Motivation.....What motivation?

Yup.. So mine has taken a run, a very long run which is more than I can say for myself.
I have never been one to just go with the flow and let myself go but lately I find my motivation at an all time low. Since I moved to this new house just over a year ago now I seemed to have lost myself, wondering if I left "Me" back at the old house??
I think a lot to do with my weight gain is stress related and being so busy with work to the point where I am just not looking after myself properly. I don't eat breakfast, I cant stomach it and instead have a very strong coffee..The type that looks like gravy and can strip walls.
I know what you are thinking..."Eat breakfast silly" well I just cant so I wait a few hours and then start making something light. On a night time this is totally the opposite, I have my meal with family and then have this tremendous sweet tooth come over me which I call my "Sweet Canine" because its ridiculous how consumed by the thought of chocolate I get..Grr.
The other day I decided I was going to eat healthily and run on my treadmill. The first night was awful as I think I over did it and felt like I was going to pass out. The second night I was ok because Id started slow and built up to a good run. I will try and keep this up because it wasn't so bad and I feel fantastic once I am done. I also looked at the calories on a bar of chocolate for the first time and thought "Nah..not worth it!" So anyway, I am going to try and keep this up as a new way of life because I have two options-

1- Keep going up in size and weight and no doubt become more and more depressed and unhealthy.

2- Move my butt more, eat healthily "which I actually love doing" Just need to learn to prepare for busy days and learn to respect and love myself a bit more.

The second option is my goal.

Thanks for reading so far and I will keep you all updated on what I get up to and if you are interested in this subject and would like to "support each other" then leave me a comment below :)

Lauren, I know exactly how you feel. My morning coffee is labeled as the gasoline that fills my daily tank. In fact, it seems I only function on caffeine alone throughout the day. I don't eat breakfast either (it makes me feel nauseated). I also work late hours (my fault, I know) and have neglected my health for the last couple of years. Just don't be like me and do this so long that you have to start relying on medication due to the health issues that will come from this self destructive phase.

A colleague and I came up with a Zumba workout group for after work so we could motivate each other (if not, for sheer embarrassment if we don't participate). The point is, find a friend or family member that can follow along with your quest for good health. You will find you not only help motivate each other, but that you will also have someone to talk to when you are feeling down or unmotivated. Of course, you can always write me too, as I am a non-judgmental listener going through the same issues that you are. Friend request me on Facebook if you'd like: Karoline Curry Garcia

Good luck and best wishes Lauren! You have been a major motivator for me to try to look the best that I can. You've taught me so much with your makeup tutorials and I truly thank you for that!

I know how you feel. I started eating healthier and move more in Oct. I've lost 10 KG so far. I didn't notice it on my body or clothes until recently when old family saw me again and I tried on some of my old clothes, which just dropped right off me.
You just gotta believe in yourself. There will be times when you just wanna give up, but stay strong. It is OK to "fall off track" every once in a while, but not as often as in the past. Try to combine cardio & strenght. I've done some strenght workouts where I almost cried at the last reps. But it's so worth it after. Rather than drinking your calories (fizzy drinks, juices etc) eat some juicy fruit! It contains less calories and sugar and artificial stuff, and it fills you up as well!
I believe in you, and you've got my support. I know how hard it is, but nothing in life is easy though.
Also, you can always find work out videos online. I started off with videos + walking to wherever I was going.

I think it's so great you're sharing this with us. You are not alone with this, none of us are. We should try find support in each other and motivate each other as well. Just remember on how you started before you became one of the most famous Make-up gurus on YouTube. Did you think you would become famous all over the world back when you started?
Everything is possible, we just have to try and give our best.
I've been watching your videos for years, I love, love, love you!

Lauren, I got out of control too and starting trying to eat healthy and exercise two years ago. I lost about 70 lbs. I found that I just have to eat something, every couple of hours to keep my blood sugar level on an even keel, this helps me to not binge. I laughed when I read on FB that you have been dancing around to music. That's exactly what I started doing in the beginning! Just getting off my duff and moving my feet to music. It was a start. Anything is better than planting myself on the couch! :) I think you are beautiful no matter what your size and you just seem so beautiful on the inside. You are an inspiration to me. Please don't be too hard on yourself, okay? I use your brushes everyday and so glad to have them! I love your videos and I think I have watched every one!

Hello Lauren,
I can't hack eating in the morning to. I have researched it and its a fact if you consume something within 30 mins of getting up you burn way more fat than running on empty.

To combat the non eating in the morning I found out that you can replace a morning meal with a protein shake,They are not just for body builders but they feed you muscles aiding in fat lose,

Anyway I know what I struggle it is I had lost a lot of weight last year but then but gained it all back after getting pneumonia. So I am about to start all over again.

As I think its not about the size you are rather how you feel, I feel tired and washed out.

Motivation is something I lack at the moment too. There is just so much going on around you that you just don't have the head space to try and plan meals.
Gosh I going to stop there before I ramble on anymore.

Lauren did you get my email?. My trainer will help you with this. You could start the day with a protein shake, then you need five small meals throughout the day, you won't get hungry then. No more than a fist sized portion of protein, veg and carbs at any one meal. The trainer can explain more though- I emailed you at your website email. Maybe it got spam-botted.

If you are interested drop me a line on

info at

and we can talk, take care,

Hi Lauren,

Good luck on your new diet! Now for a question a bit off topic: Do you still sell your palettes? Your webshop site fails, and Im dying to buy a new smokey classics palette. Hope your products are still a success - they are wonderful :D I always get compliments when wearing the antique pewter eyeshadow, and i can't imagine life without it ;D

Alle the best!

Hi Lauren! You are so absolutely beautiful inside and out! My daughter (age 13) and I love watching your videos and trying new makeup ideas. Keep those wonderful videos coming...."warts and all". We love to hear about what/how you are doing. It makes you seem that much more down to earth. Hang in there dear! Have you tried Jazzercise? It is a very fun work out and accepting of all people no matter age/size. We just love to have fun. Even though it originated in USA, England has a number of franchises and hopefully, you can find one nearby. Love your wonderful smile!

Thank you so much to all of you for reading and leaving me great motivational comments. I mean it, I have only just learned how to look through comments and respond on here. Haven't used blogger in such a long time. So thank you for your patience in me replying too. The reply system is a bit weird here so I'l just @you when I reply individually. Hope that doesn't spam your email out too much if you are subscribed to my blog feed?
